Archeology Day 2012

Join us for the 2012 edition of the Archeology Day, an open-house that provides a variety of activities for the public to experience archeological work!
 
The all-day fun activities include:
 
  • Fun & Food Tent: Food, Face Painting, Pottery Making, Rope Making, and more — Give them a try! Location: Kamp House (Building 1)
  • Tech Demos & More: Artifact Identification, Current Research, and Technology Demonstrations! Location: Maynard House (Building 2, right next to the Museum)
  • Flotation Lab: Flotation Sample Processing, Artifact Washing, and ARKIE Games — comget your hands wet and see how well you can do! Location: Building 6
  • Atlatl Throwing: Try your hand with Atlatl throwing, the ancient style of spear throwing. Location: Village Riverside Park (Location 20)
  • Excavation Site ‘TBGOK’: Come see the Buried Gardens of Kampsville Site, a 2000-year-old village excavated by the Education program since 2004.
 
Also, don’t miss the two lectures taking place in ASU Lecture Hall (Building 4): “The History of the CAA” with Jane Buikstra @ 11 AM and “The CAA Researchers” @ 1:30 PM.
