A Road Scholar program by Jeffrey Mishur
Ansel Adams (1902-1984) is one of the most respected and famous photographers of the 20th century. This slide program provides an overview of the many phases of Adams’ long and distinguished career as a photographer, historical context for his choice of subjects, and parallels his work with painters of the period, such as his friend Georgia O’Keefe. Included among the works shown are classic photographs such as Monolith, the Face of Half Dome (1927) and Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico (1941).
