American Century in Cookbooks

In conjunction with the “Key Ingredients” exhibit, Marshall Public Library hosts Penelope Bingham – an Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar – for her program on American cookbooks. Their authors, implied audience, and social structure implicit in their meal plans, tells the story of the changing role of women and social structure in 20th century America.
