Dennis Cremin will be speaking on Ward’s 20 year fight to preserve the lakefront park and will draw on his extensive research on Grant Park and provide specific insights into the lasting impact that Ward’s court cases had on the park. This illustrated program will also provide a brief survey of the park’s history from its earliest days to its role in a bustling metropolis. Cremin asserts that there were a number of "unintended results" from the court cases that Ward filed to keep the park forever open, clear and free of buildings.
