444 DAYS: Written by the Hostage Crisis Ensemble and directed by Robert Karimi. Using the 444 days of the Iranian Hostage Crisis of 1979-80, an ensemble of emerging artists create and perform a script examining the cultural differences and resonances between Iran and the United States, and between Islamic Fundamentalism and Democracy. 444 DAYS looks for a more expansive understanding of how democracy is practiced and might be practiced better – particularly as it relates to extremist points of view.
