Join us for the 2011 Public Humanities Award Benefit Luncheon honoring…

John A. [Jack] Wing
Chairman Emeritus
The Chicago Corporation*

Given annually by the IHC, the Public Humanities Award recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to public understanding of the role the humanities play in enriching civic life and strengthening communities.

This year’s recipient, Jack Wing, has provided senior leadership to the financial services industry in Chicago and nationally for many years. As a civic leader, his deep interest in education and the humanities has benefited the wider community. Jack currently serves on the boards of Rush University Medical Center, the Ravinia Festival, Kartemquin Films, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. He also is a member of the Visiting Committee to the Division of the Humanities of the University of Chicago and a life director and former chairman of the board of the Illinois Humanities Council. Click for full bio]

Join us as we honor Jack Wing for all he has done to support greater public participation in the humanities and for putting the practices and perspectives of the humanities to work throughout his life.
